NOVEMBER 10, 2024 - - - Taking a rare weekend off from Late Model action, Bubba Roling made a triumphant return to the go-kart scene where his racing career started at the age of five. At Cross Roads Motorplex in Jasper, Florida on Saturday, November 9, Bubba steered a #81 wedge kart in an open motor class for car owner Wendell Jeffers during the track’s annual ‘World 100’ program.
During qualifying, Bubba had to get out of the gas for a spinning car ahead of him and only posted the fifteenth quickest lap. After rolling off from the inside of the eighth row in the 15-lap main event, Bubba put on a show from the back to pass each and every competitor in front of him. The Clay Hill, Florida ace, who had not wheeled a go-kart in over two years, won by 4.321 seconds to claim the $500 winner’s check over runner-up Stephen Smith, Kyle Knechtel, James Hysong, and Rick Gay! Full results from the ‘World 100’ at Cross Roads Motorplex can be found on the track’s Facebook page.
