OCTOBER 13, 2024 - - - Bubba Roling and his #515 team pulled double duty on October 11-12 in the ‘Dixie Crate Nationals’ at the historic Dixie Speedway in Woodstock, Georgia. With a $12,000 top prize up for grabs for the 604 Crate Late Models, Bubba unfortunately dropped a driveshaft during qualifying on Friday night prior to finishing tenth in his heat race. He then passed four competitors during Saturday’s consolation event, but a seventh place effort was not quite good enough to transfer him into the 50-lap headliner that was ultimately won by Michael Page.
The Bubba Roling Racing team fared much better in 602 Crate Late Model action at the Atlanta-area facility. On Friday evening during preliminary competition, Bubba stopped the clock fourth fastest in Group B during time trials and later ran a strong second in his heat race behind only winner Michael Page. In Saturday’s 40-lapper, the Clay Hill, Florida ace rolled off from the outside of the fourth row seeking the $10,000 payday, but troubles early in the contest dropped Bubba to a disappointing twenty-second place performance.
