NOVEMBER 3, 2024 - - - Bubba Roling, of Clay Hill, Florida, pulled double duty from October 31-November 2 in the annual running of the ‘World Short Track Championship’ at the pristine Dirt Track at Charlotte in Concord, North Carolina. In Crate Racin’ USA Dirt Late Model Series action at the 4/10-mile speedplant, Bubba drove his 604 Crate Late Model to the second quickest time in Group A during Thursday’s qualifying session prior to recording a heat race triumph on Friday night. After starting Saturday’s 30-lap headliner from the outside of the front row and pacing the stout field for the first six circuits, Bubba wound up fifth at the unfurling of the checkered flag behind only $4,000 winner John Ruggiero, Jr., Layton Sullivan, Trent Ivey, and Jeremy Steele!
In 602 Late Model competition, Bubba went third fastest in his group during qualifying on Thursday and later grabbed the third transfer spot through Friday’s heat race. After rolling off from the inside of the ninth row in the $2,000 to win main event on Saturday evening, Bubba ran into trouble early in the 20-lapper and was the first retiree in the contest. He was ultimately paid for a disappointing twenty-eighth place showing at the Charlotte-area oval.
